On June 19, the annual Chinese Corporate Social Responsibility Conference (2010) was held in Beijing. Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. was listed as Chinese Corporation with Outstanding Social Responsibility (2010) because of excellent performance in fulfilling social responsibility, and won the award of “Outstanding Enterprise for Social Responsibility in China”.

It is reported that the annual Chinese Corporate Social Responsibility Conference (2010), jointly hosted by the China Association of foreign investment enterprises, the China Charity Federation, the Chinese Private Business Research Institute, and China Business Press, attracted many major multi-national corporations, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, government leaders, and experts and scholars. During the conference, the “Development Report of Chinese Corporate Social Responsibility (2010)” and the list of Chinese Corporations with Outstanding Social Responsibility (2010) were released. A total of more than 300 representatives from relevant ministries, multi-national corporations, domestic enterprises and the media attended the annual conference, and the issue of corporate social responsibility was discussed in depth.

In the most recent two years, Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. developed quickly with sales revenue increasing from 11.2 billion yuan in 2006 to 23.5 billion yuan in 2008, realizing the goal of doubling every two years. Combined with this speedy development, the Group actively fulfilled their social responsibilities during this period by making accumulated social donations of more than 70 million yuan, playing an important role as a state-owned enterprise in fighting natural disasters caused by freezing temperatures and earthquakes, supporting reconstruction, joining poverty alleviation activities, and establishing a good corporate image. Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. ranked 142nd among the Top 200 Chinese Enterprises

Recently, the China Enterprise Confederation and China Entrepreneurs Association announced the Top 200 Chinese Enterprises in terms of performance in 2010; Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. was listed once again, ranked as 142nd.

The Top 200 Chinese Enterprises in terms of performance is published by the China Enterprise Confederation and China Entrepreneurs Association, in order to fully reflect the achievements of the top 500 Chinese enterprises, and guiding them to achieve better performance. Every year, the top 500 China enterprises, the top 500 Chinese manufacturing enterprises, and the top 500 Chinese service companies are compared, from which the top 200 enterprises with the highest net profit are identified as the Top 200 Chinese Enterprises in terms of performance. Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. realized an operating income of over 32 billion yuan in 2010, ranked 195th among the top 500 Chinese enterprises; net profit amounted to more than 1.85 billion yuan, ranked 142nd.

In recent years, Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. has focused on a strategy of “developing a first-class safe and environment-friendly energy and chemical enterprise in China, based on coal exploration, driven by the coal chemical industry, and seeking diversified development”. The Group has seized the opportunity to carry out various measures to develop markets and further expand marketing channels; Group reforms have been deepened, innovative development models created, controls have been enhanced, and management levels improved. The Group has strengthened key project construction; strived to forcefully develop the enterprise through fixed asset investments; actively expanded financing channels to meet the demand for capital; strengthened restructuring and technological transformation while releasing the vitality of old enterprises; emphasized scientific and technological innovation; actively developed a recycling and a low carbon economy; assumed a strong interest in the lives of employees; and accepted its social responsibilities. From its official establishment in 2004 to 2009, Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. realized fast sales growth from 6.7 billion yuan to 32 billion yuan. In 2009, it ranked as the 243rd in the Top 500 Chinese Enterprises with an operating income of 23.4 billion yuan, climbing 66 places compared with ranking 309th in 2008. It is the top enterprise in Shaanxi Province with the greatest leap in rank and highest growth rate in terms of operating income, and it is the first time that the Group was listed in the Top 200 Chinese Enterprises in terms of performance. In 2010, Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. ranked 195th, making it one of the Top 200 Chinese Enterprises, and it has also become one of the hundred Chinese enterprises with the fastest growth. In the same year, it was listed once again in the Top 200 Chinese Enterprises in terms of performance, ranked 142nd, and showing a very good development trend.

2010 is the last year of the 11th Five-Year Plan. The development target of Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. is to realize 90 million tons of coal output, sales revenue of 50 billion yuan, average employee income close to 50,000 yuan, and total profit and tax of 10 billion yuan, which will double the performance of the Group compared with 2008.
