Recently, after a fierce, strict project declaration and review, a group of preponderant teams in the industry stand out. Led and declared by Shaanmei Group, the program of coal being transformed into cleaning gas through pyrogenic decomposition and gasification”was chosen as the national key research and development plan.

The program “key technologies research for coal being transformed into cleaning gas through pyrogenic decomposition and gasification”aims to break through the key technology bottleneck for the cleaning and transformation of the low-rank coal, form a set of technologies and equipment for the low-rank coal to grade, divide the quality and transform and then carry out the industrial application, promote the massive industrialization in low-rank coal by lowing temperature and pyrolysis, achieve the grading, dividing the quality, cleaning and value-added utilization for the low-rank coal. Shaanmei Group, as an over-sized chemical energy enterprise in Shaanxi province, has significant resources advantages and long-term accumulation for the research and development in the clean application field of low-rank coal. The chief scientist for the approved project is Zheng Huaan.The project team brings together the coal science and technology research institute, Taiyuan heavy industry co., Ltd., and a total of 21 coal chemistry industry production study and research advantage units, possesses 5 national key labs for high-efficient exploitation of coal resources and cleaning use, 2 national energy key labs for national energy coal to divide quality, clean and transform, 7 national engineering centers and engineering labs and more than 10 provintial key labs, and has 7 sets of million-ton coal pyrolysis, 12 t / d pressurized fixed bed slagging gasifier, 1000 Nm3/h active parched desulfurization and denitration low SCR denitration test platform.The effective integration of these advantage resources has laid a solid technical foundation for the project.

National key research and development plan as the most important part in the planned management reform of the national science and technology , integrates the original 973 plan, 863 plan, national science and technology support plan, international technology cooperation and communication special projects, the industry technology research and development capital managed by NDRC( National Development and Reform Commission) and MIIT( Ministry of  Industry and Information Technology)as well as the science and research special projects managed by related departments.The plan aiming to the restrict to the bottleneck and prominent problems we are facing and focusing on the national major strategic task, is paid to the high attention by the massive scientific research units. The successful selecting of the project, embodies the national attention for the cleaning application technology of low-level coal,and strengthens the confidence of broad coal enterprises like the representative Shaanmei Group.(Li Yao)
