Delegation from Wyoming State (USA) had an academic exchange with Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd.

On the morning of March 22, a delegation of four people fromWyomingState, led by Prof. Markno Sam, Dean of theSchoolofEnergyat theUniversityofWyoming, the energy consultant ofWyomingState, visited Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co. Ltd. and had an academic exchange. Zhou Lifa, Director of the Energy and Chemical Research Institute of Shaanxi province and Jiang Shuidong, officer of the People’s Government Foreign Affairs Office, accompanied the delegation. Shang Jianxuan, Deputy General Manager, Min Xiaojian, Dean of theInstituteofTechnology, and the leaders of relevant departments attended the meeting.

Shang Jianxuan gave a speech on behalf of the Group. He warmly welcomed theWyomingdelegation, introduced the Group and the Research Center of Green, Safe and High Efficiency Coal Mining Engineering, and the National Key Laboratory of Clean Coal Energy Conversion. He saidWyomingStateis the major area of coal reserves in theUSAand theUniversityofWyomingis well known in the use of technology for the efficient and clean use of coal resources. Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. expected to have more exchanges on these topics, and he hoped the delegation would have a successful visit inShaanxi.

Markno Sam said he hopes representatives of Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. can visitWyomingto further deepen the exchanges and cooperation. Then he briefly introduced the main resources, technical advantages, and problems inWyoming. The two sides had a heated discussion on the green and safe use of coal, and the high efficiency conversion of coal resources, and discussed possible areas of cooperation and direction.

The delegation members included: Marie Burns, Vice Dean of theSchoolofEnergyat theUniversityofWyoming, Jiao Zunsheng, the Chief Geologist of the Coal Management Research Institute in theSchoolofEnergyat theUniversityofWyoming, and Scott Kuilinan, the researcher for the Coal Management Research Institute of theSchoolofEnergyat theUniversityofWyoming.
